Focus filters on iPhone & iPad

Plannie can change what it shows you depending on which iOS Focus you're in — no need to open the app and change anything by hand. It's set up entirely in your device's own Settings app, not inside Plannie, and it reverts by itself the moment the Focus ends. Available on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or later.

Setting it up

1. Open Settings → Focus and choose the Focus you want Plannie to react to (Work, Personal, or one of your own).
2. Tap Focus Filters → Add Filter, then choose Plannie.

3. Choose your options:

   • Habits and rewards — turn this off to hide the Habits and Rewards tabs while the Focus is on, so the kids' chore board and reward store stay out of view during work hours.
   • Show only — pick one family member to narrow the Calendar and the boards down to just their day.
   • Open Plannie on — choose which tab (Calendar, Lists, Habits or Meals) Plannie should bring forward while this Focus is active.
4. Tap Add to save the filter.

You don't have to set all three — pick just the ones you want. Leaving an option unset keeps Plannie's normal behaviour for it.

What happens when the Focus turns on and off

The change applies straight away if Plannie is already open, and it's ready and waiting the next time you open the app if it wasn't. If you're standing on a tab the Focus hides, Plannie moves you to the tab you chose — or to the Calendar if you didn't choose one.

Turning the Focus off, or switching to a different one with no Plannie filter, puts everything back exactly as it was: the tabs come back and the member filter clears. Nothing is remembered or left half-applied.

Choosing Show only a family member doesn't lock Plannie to them — it just sets what you see to begin with, and you can still tap another member's name to look at their day.

Good to know

• Each Focus is set up separately, so a Work filter and a Personal filter can do completely different things.
• This only changes what you see on this device. It doesn't hide anything from the rest of the family on their own devices, and it doesn't change who gets notifications.
• Hiding the Habits and Rewards tabs doesn't pause anything behind them — habits still come due and stars or tickets still add up while they're out of sight.
