Joining a household
Join your family’s existing Plannie household with an invite link or code.
One person creates the household; everyone else joins it. Joining links your own login to your member profile, so you see the same shared calendar and lists as the rest of the family.
Invite someone
An adult can invite any member from Settings → Family & access: tap the member, then under App access choose Send invite and enter their email. The invitation arrives by email with an Accept invitation button.
Enter the person's real address: reserved test domains such as example.com are refused straight away ("Use a real email address") and no invite is created. If a real-looking address turns out to be undeliverable — a typo, usually — Plannie says so instead of leaving a pending invite behind, so you can correct it and send again immediately.
Invites expire after a while — the member row shows how long is left, and you can Resend or Cancel an invite there at any time.
Accept an invite
Tap Accept invitation in the email:
- Already signed in? You'll see "Join {family}" — one tap finishes it.
- New to Plannie? You go straight to a sign-up screen headed **"Joining {family} as {member}"** — sign up with Google, Apple, or email and you're in. There's no code to type and no household setup: you land directly in your family's hub. Already have a Plannie account? Tap "Already signed up? Log in here" on that screen and the invite is applied after you sign in.
Opening the invite on an iPhone or iPad while you're not signed in yet first asks how you'd like to continue: Open in the Plannie app, Continue in this browser, or — if you don't have it yet — Don't have the app? Get it on the App Store. See Plannie on iPhone & iPad.
Have an invite code instead? On the sign-up screen choose "Have an invite?" and type the code.
If you're not in a family
If an adult removes your app access, or the family is deleted, Plannie signs that device out as soon as it next reaches the server, and the sign-in screen explains why. Your Plannie account still works — it just isn't part of a family any more. Signing in again lands you on a screen that says so, with a button to Enter an invite code: ask someone in your family to send you a new invite from Settings → Family & access, then type the code there and you're back on your own member profile. You can also sign out, or start a brand-new family from that screen if your old one really is gone.
Good to know
- The invite is tied to a specific member profile, so points, colors, and assignments stay with the right person.
- You can sign in with any method (Google, Apple, or email) — the invite works regardless.
- Managing other members' access is adult-only.
