Private calendars, a 4-day view, and Premium free until 15 November

Premium is free until 15 November
We said 20 September. We've moved it. Plannie Premium is now free for every family until 15 November, on iPhone, iPad and the web, and you won't be charged before then. You don't need to switch anything on. If you've been meaning to try chores and rewards, the Assistant or Magic Import, there's still plenty of time.
Calendars that keep their details private
Some calendars belong in the family plan without everyone reading them. A work calendar is the usual one. Under Settings → Family & access → your name → Sync & calendars, each connected calendar now has an eye button. Tap it and the rest of the family, and the shared tablet in the kitchen, see those events as plain Busy blocks. They still know you're taken on Thursday at three. They don't see with whom. You keep seeing the full details on your own devices.
Turning a calendar off completely now asks you to confirm first, since it removes that calendar's events from Plannie.
A 4-day view, and a clearer today
Next to Day, Week, Month and List there's a new 4 days view: today plus the next three, which turns out to be about as far ahead as a phone screen can show comfortably. Swipe to move four days at a time. You can make it your default under Settings → Calendar.
Today's column also gets a faint warm tint in the week and 4-day views, so your eye lands in the right place when you open the calendar.
Magic Import works in the background
Hand Plannie a school letter or a season schedule and you no longer have to wait and watch. The import runs in the background, you can close the sheet and carry on, and a message tells you when the events are ready. Deleting an event that lives in Google or Outlook got the same treatment and is now instant.
Lists: live updates and your own favourites
The new lists editor from the last update has now reached everyone, and with it lists update live. When someone adds bananas at home, they appear on your phone in the shop while you're looking at it.
Favourites are personal now. On your own phone, the lists you star are yours, and they don't rearrange anybody else's sidebar. The buttons for a new list and a new section in the sidebar also look like buttons now, which they didn't quite before.
Habits worth any number of stars
When you create a habit, the reward is no longer a choice between 1, 2, 3 or 5. Step it up and down, or tap the number and type anything from none to 1,000. Mowing the lawn and putting a plate in the dishwasher can finally be worth different amounts.
Steadier calendar sync
A good part of the two weeks went into sync, most of it prompted by reports you sent us.
- Some school and sports feeds re-number their events every time they publish, and Plannie used to show those events twice. It now recognises them and keeps one of each.
- All-day events from subscribed calendars land on the right day, also across daylight saving changes and for repeating events.
- If Google or Microsoft stops accepting a connection, Plannie now asks you to reconnect. Before, it just kept retrying without telling you.

The website grew quite a bit. There's a new comparison hub with side-by-side pages for the family calendars, list apps and wall displays people most often weigh Plannie against, with sources linked. There are four new guides, on getting the school calendar onto your phone, organising a family schedule, chore and reward systems for kids and sharing Google Calendar in a family, and the six older guides were rewritten and expanded. The About page now says who builds Plannie and why.
Prices show in your own currency on the Swedish, German, Spanish and French pages, in whole numbers. Pages load faster, with much lighter images, and accented letters finally render in the proper typeface in every language.
