Invitations in your calendar, lists with photos, and a friendlier first day 💌

It has been a busy couple of weeks since Plannie landed on the App Store, and the app has grown up in a lot of places. This round is about the calendar, lists and your first minutes with Plannie, plus a big bag of polish. Here's the tour. :sparkles:

Welcome guests to Plannie Calendar!

Invitations from Google and Outlook now come through properly. Open a synced event and you see who's invited and who has said yes, with a Going? row where you answer Yes, No or Maybe without leaving Plannie. Events you haven't answered yet are outlined in your colour, so an unanswered invite is easy to spot in the week. Anyone in the household can answer on the calendar owner's behalf.

Attached documents now sit on the event itself. The permission slip, the season schedule, the party invitation: they show as thumbnails right in the event sheet, one tap from the viewer. No more opening Edit just to find the PDF.

A few more things you'll notice in the week view. Overlapping events now cascade instead of squeezing into skinny columns: the longer event sits underneath, the shorter one on top and indented, so both titles stay readable. You can swipe to move between weeks, and between days and months too. The calendar opens at the current time, and the new week slides in from the side you'd expect. Event chips are tighter and clearer, with the assigned family members tucked into the corner. And on iPhone and iPad, dragging to create an event gives you a little haptic thump when it grabs and a tick for every 15 minutes.

We also found and fixed a bug where a connected Google Calendar could stop syncing after a while. If your calendar had gone stale, it should be working butter smooth now!

Lists that feel like a document

Lists got a proper rebuild. Every row is always ready to edit: tap anywhere and start typing, press Enter for a new row, and Backspace on an empty row to remove it, the way you'd expect in a note.

You can now drop photos straight in between the items, from your camera roll, your camera, or by dragging one onto the list on the web. Every list can have its own cover photo, icon and colour, and on the phone the customise gear now sits in the list toolbar, so you no longer need a tablet to change a cover. Any row can be turned into a task, a heading, a note or a divider in one tap, without retyping.

Selecting got better too. You can select text over several rows at once (drag or long-press on touch, ⌘A on the web), copy a whole list as clean text and paste it right back in, headings and all. Undo and redo work from the keyboard and the toolbar. And list titles and items got a warmer serif typeface.

A friendlier first day

The welcome, sign-up and setup screens have been redesigned in Plannie's new look, with big poster headlines and stickers, and a layout that finally feels made for a phone in one hand: the buttons at the bottom, the back arrow where your thumb is, and no scrolling on the setup steps.

Everyone gets a short guide to importing. The best part of Plannie is that you can hand it a school letter, a flyer or a recipe and it does the rest, but that was easy to miss. So a five-step guide now shows for every family, new or existing, and walks through the three ways in: forward it to your family's own email address, share it straight from any app on your phone, or drop it into the Plannie Assistant with an instruction. You can replay it any time from Settings. When your first imported event lands, Plannie throws a small celebration. :party:

Tickets or stars? Rewards have always been paid in tickets. Now your family picks its own currency the first time you open Habits. The choice runs through the whole app, from the chore cards to the Plannie Assistant, and you can switch later in Settings.

Plannie speaks your language

The iPhone and iPad app and plannie.io are now available in English, Swedish, German, Spanish and French. The app follows your device language by default, and you can pick one under Settings → General.

…and the bag of polish

Sharing a file to Plannie from a cold start no longer loses the file, the Assistant chat keeps its place when the keyboard opens, and a long list of smaller fixes came in from the crash reports you send us (thank you!). And a reminder while we're at it: Plannie Premium is free for everyone until 20 September, so the whole family can try all of this.
