A new welcome, lovelier lists, and a calendar that keeps the paperwork 📎
Fresh from the workshop: the first big batch of updates since launch! A shiny new welcome for newcomers, a big upgrade to Lists, and a calendar that now keeps the paperwork too. Here's the tour. ✨
A whole new welcome
First impressions matter, so we rebuilt the front door: the app now opens with a swipeable little tour of what Plannie does, and signing up got a complete redesign — cleaner, friendlier, and just as at home on a phone as on the kitchen tablet. Joining your family is simpler too: tap the invite email and you land straight on a "Joining your family" sign-up — no codes, no detours. Oh, and Plannie has a brand-new app icon. 🎨
Lists, greatly improved

The Lists tab got a lot of love. Checking something off now lands with a satisfying little ding. Editing feels natural everywhere: on phones and tablets a formatting bar sits right above the keyboard for turning rows into tasks, headings, or dividers, and on the web everything is reachable with the mouse. Give a list a photo cover and it now runs gloriously edge-to-edge on your phone. Small thing, big joy.
The calendar keeps the paperwork
Events can now carry attachments — the permission slip, the season schedule, the party invitation — one tap away, right on the event. Forward a flyer to your Family Inbox and any PDF or photo comes along for the ride, attaching itself to the events it creates. The inbox also answers right away when you approve a new sender, instead of leaving you hanging. And events can now have more than one reminder — a day before and an hour before, and both will fire.
Apple calendars and school schedules
Calendar feeds got friendlier. There's now a proper step-by-step guide for bringing in Apple/iCloud calendars, subscribe links from school and club platforms (lunch menus, training schedules) just work, and when a link doesn't, Plannie tells you what's actually wrong instead of shrugging. See Syncing with Google Calendar for the how-to.
Send it to Plannie
On iOS and Android you can now share straight to Plannie from other apps — a photo, a PDF, or a link — and Plannie Assistant opens with it attached, ready to turn it into calendar events. On phones the Assistant is now a proper full-screen chat. And Siri learned new tricks: add events, list items, and chores by voice, hands full of groceries.
…and a big bag of polish
Uploaded profile photos now show up everywhere, dark mode got several fixes, the iOS app wears a glassy new tab bar, and a pile of under-the-hood work makes everything faster and steadier. And a reminder while we launch: everything in the apps is free and unlocked until August 30 — the whole summer, on us.
That's it for this round — more soon. Spot something off? Tell us right here on the feedback portal. 💌
